A leading voice for the Victorian built environment

img3On Monday 24 October 2011, the Premier of Victoria, Ted Baillieu, announced that the Office of the Victorian Government Architect (OVGA) has been reformed as a more independent office. This will enable OVGA to advise more openly and candidly about issues of design quality and to become more visible and autonomous in its role as advocate and advisor.

OVGA will continue to advocate for achieving better design outcomes in Victoria's built environment, communicating the importance and value of good design, and promoting and strengthening Melbourne and Victoria as centres of design.

The Premier announced the OVGA's transition at the launch of the inaugural Melbourne Architecture Annual (MA|A).
