Pamela McGirr

Pamela McGirr is a versatile architect with 30 years of experience gained through education and work in both the United States and Australia. She has worked across a diverse range of projects in various roles including design lead, project manager and as client representative for a major institution. Pamela often serves on industry and academic design juries. Her advisory and advocacy work at the Office of the Victorian Government Architect focuses on:

  • culture and creative industries
  • education
  • precincts
  • sports, leisure and tourism.

Pamela’s advice and advocacy is strengthened by her experience as both architect and client. This helps enable intelligent and workable design outcomes. Her impact is evident in:

  • design-based planning reform for medium density housing
  • OVGA communications collateral
  • input, briefing and reporting on various projects across diverse sectors through the independent VDRP process

Pamela's qualifications include:

  • Bachelor of Architecture (RMIT University)
  • Master of Environmental Design (Yale University)
  • past examiner for the Architects Registration Board of Victoria (ARBV).
