Aaron is the director of Playce, an award winning design practice that specialises in bespoke play, active recreation, and youth inclusive public urban design. This includes being a leading expert in designing public spaces that privilege the needs of young women.

Aaron is a registered Landscape Architect with AILA and member of both PLA and Play Australia. He provides insight at strategic and policy level as an advocate for improving intergenerational play, recreation and youth inclusive urban design provision. This includes lecturing at both RMIT and University of Melbourne and advisory roles at both Parks and Leisure Australia and Play Australia.

With such significant strategic expertise in planning for play, skate and youth space design, Aaron and his team at Playce challenge traditional models of recreation planning and urban design to maximise participation and social inclusion with the delivery of nationally significant public urban play and recreation projects across Australia.

Aaron’s strategic work across Australia is looking at play provision for people of all ages and the importance of social inclusion through:

  • Strategic youth space, skate and playspace planning
  • Active recreation design including skateparks, pump tracks, parkour and bouldering
  • Bespoke playspace design for all ages incl nature and sculptural play
  • Play, recreation and urban design for young women
  • Interactive museum exhibit design
