PIA National Awards for Planning Excellence 2020

The OVGA congratulates the 2020 PIA National Awards for Planning Excellence winners.

OVGA congratulates all the winners of the Planning Institute of Australia’s National Awards for Planning Excellence. Victorian projects won 4 national awards in a recent virtual awards ceremony.

The LXR Authority won the ‘From Plan to Place’ award for their Urban Design Management Plan. This was prepared to guide the approach to high quality urban design from inception, through to design and construction of each of the grade separation project’s being delivered across Melbourne’s rail network. The OVGA has been involved with this project since inception and continues to champion the delivery of high quality urban design outcomes.  

Ballarat’s Creative City Strategy and Creative Precinct Masterplan won the Best Planning Ideas - Large Project award. City of Ballarat engaged a multi-disciplinary team including SGS Economics and Planning, MGS Architects, Left Bank Co, Eleni Arbus & Mary Papaioannou to develop a master plan integrated with a land use and economic development strategy. The OVGA provided independent design advice at key points in the process to assist the client and design team realise all the project possibilities.
