Dean is National Sector Leader of Urban Futures at Architectus. Over three decades across private and public sectors, his career has evolved from landscape architecture into broader city shaping and major urban design projects. Since 2020, he has been Discipline Lead Urban Design for the Victorian Government’s Suburban Rail Loop as part of the AJM Technical Advisory team.
Dean is highly experienced in master planning, strategic urban design, design review and urban renewal, and has led design teams on complex land developments, mixed-use infill sites and precincts across Victoria and New South Wales.
A respected urban designer, he served on the OVGA’s Victorian Design Review Panel (2014–2025), held roles with AILA design juries, education and public sector committees, and was Co‑Chair of the Property Council of Australia’s National Cities Roundtable (to 2024). Dean was recently appointed to the National Capital Design Review Panel.
