Donald has lectured internationally extensively in both an academic and professional capacity.

Donald an associate dean (Engagement) and University of Melbourne and is director of LAB Architecture Studio.

Donald is a Life Fellow of the Australian Institute of Architects. He is a Fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects.

LAB produced Melbourne's celebrated Federation Square. LAB has many projects under construction or completed in China, Singapore, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon and the UK. LAB has worked on competitions and proposals across Australia, Asia, Africa and Europe.

Donald is:

  • chair of Architectural Design at the Melbourne School of Design, University of Melbourne
  • chair of the University of Melbourne Design Advisory and Review Group

He has taught at schools of architecture in:

  • Australia
  • The Middle East
  • France
  • UK
  • USA

He has delivered lectures and presentations in over 220 schools, universities and symposia worldwide.

Donald has been appointed to many international design juries in Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia and Australia.

There are numerous publications and documentaries on the work of LAB, Donald’s work and his writing in many international design and architecture journals.
