Government Architects awarded National President’s Prize

The Government Architect Network of Australia is celebrated for ‘exceptional leadership and dedication’.

Along with Government Architects from across Australia, Victorian Government Architect Jill Garner has been awarded the 2025 National President’s Prize by the Australian Institute of Architects.

In an acceptance speech on behalf of the Government Architects Network of Australia (GANA), Jill noted the often invisible work that goes into supporting the important and specialised skills of architects to serve our communities. The supportive, collaborative and confirming network GANA fosters was celebrated

The Jury Citation notes that “Australian government architects through GANA have an unwavering commitment to promoting the value of good design and enhancing the quality of the built environment for the benefit of current and future generations. Good design through architecture, equity, quality, sustainability and inclusivity has left an indelible mark on the built environment of Australia and has set a benchmark for the procurement, approvals framework and delivery of projects worldwide. Their work across advocacy and policy serves as an inspiration to architects and designers globally, and their legacy will continue to shape architecture for years to come.”
