Kerstin Thompson LFRAIA

Kerstin plays an active role within the profession and promotes high quality design in the wider community.


Kerstin is principal of Kerstin Thompson Architects (KTA). KTA has established itself as a significant and innovative practice in Australian architecture and urban design.

Kerstin is:

  • a professor of Design in Architecture at Victoria University Wellington
  • an adjunct professor of Architecture at RMIT University
  • a contributing editor of Architecture Australia
  • a writer and lecturer with close links to schools of architecture and professional institutes

She was:

  • creative director for the 2005 AIA National Conference and the 2008 Venice Biennale
  • a member of the BEIIC Advisory Committee

Kerstin has also been an elected national councillor for the Australian Institute of Architects.
