The inaugural Victorian Design Review Panel (VDRP) was established in 2012 to increase the reach of the Office of the Victorian Government Architect (OVGA) as we support government’s vision to build a better built environment for all Victorians.

The VDRP has grown to be a highly valued service of the OVGA and has reviewed over 550 projects of state significance since its inception. At the 10+ year milestone the OVGA recently brought together many of the 79+ VDRP panellists to celebrate the contribution this expert group continues to make to projects across Victoria.

The positive impact to project outcomes across a broad range of typologies and sectors was captured in a retrospective by Jill Garner and Tim Leslie, backed up by independent analysis by SGS Economics on the value of the OVGA.

We thank all those who attended the night. To those that couldn’t make it, your contribution to improving design quality in Victoria is much appreciated.

The VDRP will be undertaking a panel refresh in 2023. If you think you might be a suitable candidate for the VDRP more information on panel applications will be available shortly.
