Ron is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects. He is also adjunct professor of Landscape Architecture at RMIT University.
He established Jones & Whitehead Pty Ltd with co-director Georgina Whitehead in 2000. The practice focuses on public landscapes and urban design.
Ron worked at the City of Melbourne where he played a leading role in:
- developing Melbourne's urban design strategy
- park master plans
- designing several major projects
He has contributed to:
- state and local government policies
- planning frameworks
- built projects
Many of the built projects Ron was involved in have been recognised with professional awards.
Ron received the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects Victorian President's Award in 2010.
