Sarah Kahn has 18 years of local and international experience as an architect gained working for several design-led practices in London, Canberra and Melbourne. She led her own practice prior to joining the Office of the Victorian Government Architect and has university teaching experience. Her role at the OVGA includes engaging with design review processes and providing input and guidance on:

  • medium and high-density housing
  • education.

Sarah’s advice and advocacy help enable considered design outcomes to navigate the complexities of government’s delivery environment. Her impact is evident in:

  • design-based planning reform for medium-density housing
  • masterplans for significant redevelopment sites and urban renewal areas
  • input, briefing and reporting on various projects across diverse sectors through the independent VDRP process.

Sarah's qualifications include:

  • Bachelor of Architecture (Hons) (University of Canberra)
  • AIA Graduate Prize and National Capital Authority Prize.

Sarah is committed to communicating the value of good design and supporting capable designers to create places with long-term appeal for the community.
