Sarah advocates for protocols and processes which respect and celebrate Indigenous cultural identity and authority.

Sarah is a Palawa woman descending from the Plangermaireener and Trawlwoolway people of North East Tasmania.

Sarah is passionate about Indigenising the built environment. As an Indigenous woman she brings a unique perspective to her role, informed by personal experience, heritage and research.

Sarah’s role at Jackson Clements Burrows Architects includes architecture as well as heading up the Indigenous Advisory, Architecture and Design services.

She advises on appropriate processes and protocols to:

  • communities
  • built environment professionals
  • private clients
  • universities
  • governments

Sarah also curates the BLAKitecture series and provides program consultation for MPavilion. She teaches at Monash University.

Sarah sits on the AIA Editorial Committee, as well as various other boards and advisory roles.
