Shelley is passionate about improving the quality of the built environment through the poetic capacity of high-quality architecture and public places to enrich the human condition.

Shelley is an award-winning architect who advises, writes and teaches about architecture and urbanism. Her work includes advice to government and the private sector on design matters for developments and public places across all scales.

She is a Life Fellow and past national president of the Australian Institute of Architects.

Shelley was the associate victorian government architect from 2006 – 2010.

She was:

  • manager of the Design Studio at Melbourne City Council
  • deputy chair of Heritage Council of Victoria
  • board member for Linking Melbourne Authority
  • chair of National Capital Authority
