The Victorian Architecture Medal went to Kerstin Thompson Architects‘ redevelopment of Town Hall Broadmeadows in the 2020 Victorian Architecture Awards. The design aimed to retain the “strengths and clarity” of the building – particularly its “scale, symmetry, civic grandeur and ceremonial organization.”

State Library Victoria Redevelopment by Architectus and Schmidt Hammer Lassen Architects won the Melbourne Prize and Penguin Parade Visitor Centre by Terroir took out the Regional Prize.

OVGA congratulates all the winning projects, chosen from a strong field of work which represents some of the best new architecture in Victoria. Through their central role as the government’s adviser on architecture and urban design, OVGA was involved in several award-winning buildings.

The 2020 Victorian Architecture awards winners were announced on Friday 10th July and a full list of winners can be found on ArchitectureAU.
