Karen Alcock has 20 years' experience working on multi residential and award winning housing projects. Karen established MAA after 10 years as a director at Neometro Architects.
Karen is actively involved in promoting the importance of architecture and design. She is currently a Member of The Melbourne University Architecture Advisory Board and until recently was a member of the Victorian Chapter Council of the Australian Institute of Architects. In 2016 Karen was made a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Architects.
Karen places a strong emphasis on the critical role of design in architectural practice and is committed to the potential for architecture to act as a positive change, through the design of space and spatial experience.
Sustainability is a core philosophy of her practice with an emphasis on the highest level of passive design. Karen believes there is an opportunity in every project to deliver joy and surprise. By emphasising and celebrating the environment, occupant and experience.
